Truth Generation Church Statement Of Beliefs

The Inspired Scriptures

The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct. Truth Generation accepts the Bible as the revealed will of God, as the all-sufficient rule of faith and standard for daily living.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the “I Am,” the Creator and Redeemer of mankind. We believe God eternally exists alone and is manifested to mankind through three unique fashions, the Father in creation, the Son in redemption and the Holy Ghost in the church.
(Deut. 6:4; Isa. 43:10, 11; Gen. 1:1)

The Deity of Jesus

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virginbirth, sinless life, miracles, teachings, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh and that he is the saving name of God. We believe that by him all things are made and that he is the one true creator and almighty God.  In him dwells the fullness of the godhead bodily, and it is he that sits on the throne and shall judge the quick and the dead. By him are we are justified and made free, through his shed blood and the power of his cross.
(Isa. 9:6; Col. 2:9; 1 Tim. 3:16; John 1:1-2, 14; Ephesians 4:5-6; Rev.4:2)

The Fall of Man

Man was created good and upright; however, man voluntarily transgressed and fell, and thereby, is spiritually dead and away from God.
(Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

The Salvation of Man

Man’s only hope for reconciliation and spiritual awakening is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith in Jesus through grace and demonstrated in repentance leading to a born-again intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only way man can receive salvation. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
(John 3:3; Acts 4:12; Romans 12:13-15; Ephesians 2:8)

Ordinances of the Church

We believe in the servant service of feet washing as performed by the Lord Jesus Christ to his disciples. We believe in a unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and wine or grape juice (the body and blood of Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We believe in all spiritual ordination of the ministers of Jesus Christ if having met the biblical prerequisites.
(John 13:3-17 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Titus 1: 5-9)

Water Baptism

We believe that baptism in water is the answer of a clear and good conscious toward God and that following faith in Jesus Christ the new believer is commanded by the word of God to be baptized in water by full immersion. It is the demonstrative symbolism of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and through it are we buried with Christ and our body of sin is destroyed. We believe in obeying the commandment of Jesus Christ to teach all men and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, which is the name Jesus Christ. We follow the divine order of early baptism in the church beginning on Pentecost day by the Apostles. It is through water baptism in the name of Jesus that one’s sins are remitted and without it and the spirit, one cannot be a citizen of the kingdom.
(John. 3:3-17; Mark 16:16; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; Acts 8: 14-16; Acts 10: 46-48; Acts 19:3-5 Romans 6: 1-6; 1 Peter 3:21)

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

Given at the day of Pentecost, we believe the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father available to all Christians. We believe it is received through true repentance and belief on Jesus Christ as the scripture has said. It was sent by Jesus after His Ascension to empower all the Church to be witnesses of him and some to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth. In scripture the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is initially received with the sign of speaking in tongues (three types: new tongues, other tongues, unknown tongues [all can be interpreted by the spirit if the gift is present]) and followed by the evidence of the fruits of the spirit. We believe in all operations of the Holy Ghost found in Ephesians 4 and 1 Cor. 12 including the casting out of demons.
(Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-4, 37-39; John 7: 37-39; John 14:15-17; Rom.8:9; 1 Cor. 12: 1-11)

Sanctification

The act of separation from that which is evil and dedicating oneself to God and that which is good, upright, and morally pure. Sanctification is committing to living a holy lifestyle and being controlled by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Scriptures.
(Romans 12:1, 2; 1 Peter 1:16; Hebrews 12:14)

The Church and Its Mission

The Church is the representative of Jesus on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission. The church is to assemble together to praise the Lord, exhort each other, and the Lord will add to it daily.
(Matthew 28:19; Luke 19:10; Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:25)

The Ministry

A divinely called and scripturally ordained minister has been provided by God to lead the church in prayers, evangelization, worship, building the body, and general leadership of the church.
(Mark 16:15-20; John 4:23-24; Ephesians 4:11, 16)

The Blessed Hope and Second Coming

The resurrection and catching away of all Christians dead and alive to meet Christ in the air is the Blessed Hope. The Second Coming of Christ includes the rapture and a return to earth by Christ with His saints for a thousand-year reign.
(Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:17, 30)

Judgment and Final Judgment

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ to be judged of our deeds whether they are good or evil, Jesus has the reward with him for all men. There will be a final judgment at which all men who have done evil will be judged before the Great White Throne of God, these are they that are not found in the Lamb’s book of life and cast into the lake of fire.
(Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Cor. 5:10; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15)

The New Heaven and Earth-All of God’s children will reign forever in a new heaven and a new earth.
(2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22)
